Abstract

This study analyzes the divergent trends in Qur'anic interpretation among major Islamic schools of thought, particularly the Deobandi, Barelvi, and Ahl-e-Hadith traditions, and explores the prospects for scholarly harmony among them. It argues that most differences in Qur'anic exegesis arise from variations in interpretative methodology, legal reasoning, theological perspectives, and approaches to textual evidence rather than from disagreements over the fundamental principles of Islam. The study further demonstrates that these schools share a common commitment to the core doctrines of faith, including belief in the Oneness of Allah, Prophethood, revelation, and the Finality of Prophethood. By highlighting the importance of intellectual diversity, mutual respect, academic integrity, and constructive dialogue, the article emphasizes that scholarly harmony can be achieved without eliminating legitimate differences of interpretation. The study concludes that a balanced and comparative approach to Qur'anic exegesis can strengthen inter-sect understanding, promote intellectual cooperation, and contribute to greater unity within the Muslim scholarly tradition.
