Abstract

The term “Halal food” is used very broadly in recent times. Only chicken or beef is not meant when we say Halal food.  It has become broader and includes everything from services to drinks, pharmaceuticals and perfumes. Even rice, water, poultry feed, leather and textile products also fall in this category. All these things are manufactured in the light of Islam and any unlawful element is avoided during the process. Islam provides clear guidelines for Halal food. Whatever is obtained according to sharia will be considered halal. Islam emphasizes upon halal consumption as it has strong effects upon our character.  Islam forbids from eating haram to save us from its negative effects. So, as we are encouraged to eat halal in the same way we are commanded to avoid it. If we analyze Islamic rules pertain to our individual and collective life, we can summarize them in two words: Halal and Halal.  So, Islam has given particular guidelines for food, medicine and cosmetics.  What are the rulings in Quran and Sunnah regarding animal slaughtered through machines? When we talk about food it relates to our individual and family life. Allah is pure and accepts only pure. We do what we are commanded and we refrain from which we are prohibited. As for slaughter through machine is concerned, it is not allowed in any case. It is clearly against Islamic teachings. It is obligatory to recite Tasmiya at the time of slaughter which is missing in machine slaughter. As it is not possible for a man to slaughter all animals with a single tasmiya. This article describes the entire procedure of slaughter. All the possible situations are discussed here.
